Nicolet Area Technical College, is a two-year college, located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The campus is nestled in a scenic, wooded natural habitat, just off of Lake Julia, that can provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxed classroom setting and gives the students all the comforts of home while studying.
The campus has six (6) main buildings that house an excellent library complete with many research materials, a bookstore, and a cafeteria. Nicolet Area Technical College was established some forty years ago but has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of its academic offerings and is continually growing and discovering ways to come a leader in the field of education and acadamia. It has been accredited some thirty (30) years by the Higher Learning Commission and in 2005 received the highest level of accreditation, a ten-year term that does not require any follow up visits within that timeframe.



Rhinelander, Wisconsin is a modest sized city and is the county seat of Oneida County. Nicolet mirrors the city of Rhinelander in that both are growing; and by offering some of residents a few of the amenities of larger cities but still maintaining some semblance of small-town life. As a result graduates of Nicolet College who do not go on to pursue college degrees should be able to find jobs in the Rhinelander.
Nicolet College offers to its perspective and current students more than sixty (60) different degree programs, diplomas, and certificates. A benefit of Nicolet College is it is a small college that with small classroom sizes. This can be very helpful to students to feel like they can have one-on-one attention from a professor. Not only that, the instructors are accessible and are experts in their fields, so students know that they are receiving top-notch information.
Aside from the traditional classroom settings, Nicolet understands that a portion of their student population have full-time jobs or have family obligations that inhibit them from taking classes during the day, so they offer flexibility in the way of online courses, evening and part-time classes.



A few of the programs offered at Nicolet College are the University Transfer in Liberal Arts and this program is geared towards students who plan on continuing their education at four year colleges. These courses are similar to those offered at four-year colleges so that it is seamless transition to transferring credits. However, if a student chooses not to go on a university, the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees they have obtained will still provide them a leg-up above the competition in the workplace and will demonstrate the attainment of certain valuable skill sets.
Other technical career programs include but are not limited to: graphic design, business management, accounting, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, surgical technologist, culinary arts, early childhood education, criminal justice, marketing, automotive technician, etc. Along with these traditional programs, Nicolet also offers apprenticeship progrrams and short-term certificates.
Does Nicolet sound like a great place to get a quality education? Well it gets better, because Nicolet College has some of the most competitive tuition costs compared to other technical colleges and if you are planning on attending a four year college later, while at Nicolet you can save money on different incidentals like housing, meal plans, parking, etc. However, if you do require help financially, Nicolet offers various scholarships, grants, and loans (Loans and some grants are based off of need and are federally funded. You will need to fill out a FAFSA in order to be eligible).



Nicolet is not just academically focused; here there are many different organizations and clubs that students can join in order to build their social skills or just participate in something fun.
